The days of confrontation has come to Chambers Bay Golf Club. The famous Robert Trent Jones Jr. course on the shores of Puget Sound near Tacoma, Wash., will host the one hundred and tenth U.S. Amateur August 23 to 29. The amateur is undoubtedly an important event for the USGA. As a municipal course run by the county, Chambers Bay was an economic burden on society tax money, which cost $ 20,000,000 to build and operate a budget in the red.
